Boston Police Are Using AI to Monitor Social Media

Boston police are now using artificial intelligence to monitor public social media — including tools that can analyze “sentiment.” Finding what someone wrote is one thing. Asking AI to decide whether those words are hostile, aggressive or dangerous is something else entirely.
